Ceramic Coating FAQs

1. What is ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to your vehicle’s exterior to create a protective, durable layer. Once cured, it bonds with the paint to provide a long-lasting shield against environmental contaminants, UV rays, and minor scratches, while enhancing your vehicle’s gloss and shine.

2. How does ceramic coating protect my car?

Ceramic coating forms a hydrophobic barrier, meaning water, dirt, and grime slide off easily, making your car easier to clean. It also protects against oxidation, fading from UV exposure, bird droppings, tree sap, and other harmful elements that can damage the paint over time.

3. How long does ceramic coating last?

The lifespan of ceramic coatings varies depending on the type of coating used and the level of maintenance. Professional-grade ceramic coatings can last anywhere from 2 to 10 years or longer, providing ongoing protection with minimal maintenance required.

4. Do I still need to wash my car after ceramic coating?

Yes, while ceramic coating reduces the effort needed to clean your car, it does not make it maintenance-free. Regular washing is still required to remove dirt and contaminants, but it will be much easier as the coating prevents grime from sticking to the surface. For regular washing, we recommend a maintenance routine of touchless carwash in-between our maintenance basic washes.

5. Can ceramic coating prevent scratches and chips?

Ceramic coating is not a substitute for Paint Protection Film (PPF), which is designed to prevent rock chips and scratches. However, our ceramic coating is more than twice as hard as typical clear coat paint and does provide a level of minor scratch resistance and helps protect your vehicle’s paint from swirl marks and surface imperfections. The ceramic coating becomes a sacrificial layer that preserve the integrity of the vehicle’s paint underneath it.

6. Will ceramic coating make my car glossy?

Absolutely! One of the main benefits of ceramic coating is the deep, high-gloss finish it provides. Your car will have a mirror-like shine, enhancing its overall appearance while maintaining that "new car" look for longer.

7. Can ceramic coating be applied to all vehicles?

Yes! Ceramic coating can be applied to almost any type of vehicle, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats. It works on a variety of surfaces including paint, glass, plastic trims, and even wheels.

8. How is ceramic coating applied?

The process typically starts with a thorough wash and paint decontamination, followed by paint correction if necessary. The ceramic coating is then applied carefully by hand and allowed to cure, creating a strong bond with your vehicle’s paint.

9. Is ceramic coating worth the investment?

For many vehicle owners, ceramic coating is absolutely worth it. It provides long-lasting protection, reduces the frequency of washes, enhances your car’s appearance, and helps maintain the vehicle’s resale value. It’s an excellent way to safeguard your investment and keep your car looking pristine.

10. What’s the difference between ceramic coating and wax?

While wax provides a temporary layer of protection and shine, it typically lasts only a few months before needing reapplication. Ceramic coating, on the other hand, is a semi-permanent solution that can last for several years, offering far superior protection and durability.

11. Can ceramic coating be removed?

Once applied, ceramic coating can only be removed through mechanical polishing. It cannot be washed off like wax or sealants. This is one of the reasons it lasts so much longer than traditional detailing products.

12. How long does the application process take?

The time required for a ceramic coating application depends on the condition of your vehicle’s paint and the level of preparation needed. Typically, the entire process can take anywhere from 1 to 3 days, including preparation, coating application, and curing time.

13. Can I apply ceramic coating myself?

While there are DIY ceramic coating products available, professional-grade ceramic coatings offer superior durability and performance. Applying the coating yourself without proper preparation or experience can result in uneven coverage or improper bonding. It’s best to trust the professionals for optimal results.

14. How much does ceramic coating cost?

The cost of ceramic coating depends on several factors, including the size and condition of your vehicle, as well as the type of ceramic coating you choose. Contact us for a personalized quote and to learn more about our ceramic coating packages.
